The Development Office organised a professional training programme on the EU in the framework of the EU-China Programme for China’s Integration into the WTO, managed by GTZ and completed in December 2003. 

This programme took place on the premises of the College of Europe in Bruges and was successfully delivered from 18th to 28th August 2003. Participants were 10 Chinese civil servants from various ministries. The training programme was instrumental in preparing them to fully benefit from subsequent short-term traineeships at the European Commission and other public organisations in the EU. The training modules were designed to provide specialist knowledge on the EU integration and policies, including economic and trade policy aspects. Professors and assistants from the College network delivered the lectures, and one project manager and a secretary of the Development Office managed the organisational aspects of the programme.
